The Burger Bar Recipe courtesy Tyler Florence

2 pounds brisket, ground

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

4 thin slices Swiss cheese

4 hamburger buns, split

Preheat a large cast-iron skillet to medium hot. Take a few paper towels and fold them several times to make a thick square. Blot a small amount of oil on the paper towel and carefully and quickly wipe the hot skillet to make a nonstick surface.

Season the ground meat in a bowl with salt and pepper. Give it about 3 turns in the bowl with your hands or a big spoon and it's done. Shape into 4 patties. When the skillet is hot, put the burgers on the skillet and cook 4 minutes on the first side and 5 for the second side for rare; 7 minutes per side for medium, adding the cheese during the final minute or 2 to melt. Remove the burgers to a plate. Rub the skillet with the folded paper towel again to clean it. Then toast the buns cut side down for about 1 minute, just to mark them. Serve the hamburgers in the buns with the accompaniments below.

Sauteed Mushrooms:

Saute 1 pound thickly sliced mushrooms in 1/4 cup olive oil with 2 sliced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves over super-high heat until nicely browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in a couple of drops fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavor.

Caramelized Onions:

Heat 2 tablespoons unsalted butter with 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add 2 onions, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices, sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook slowly until well caramelized, 15 to 20 minutes.

Tomatoes with Sea Salt and Chives:

Thickly slice 2 pounds red and yellow beefsteak tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt and 1/2 bunch chopped fresh chives.

Bacon with Rosemary:

Lay out 1/2 pound sliced bacon on a baking sheet, strip leaves from 1 sprig rosemary and throw them on top with lots of cracked black pepper and roast at 400 degrees F until the bacon is crisp, about 10 minutes.

Herbed Horseradish Mayonnaise:

Stir together 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish, 1/4 cup freshly minced herbs such as parsley, basil, chives or scallion, 2 tablespoons olive oil, a little squeeze of lemon juice, and salt and pepper.

steak mince, diced onion, mixed herbs 1 spoon tomatoe sauce blend up together, on the side have big cheese cubes chopped and ready the trick is to take a handful of mince mixture push a cube of cheese inside and with your hand make into a burger shape covering all the cheese , get your bundie spread with salsa 2 slices of bacon place burger on top then bundie I swear when you bite into the burger the cheese is melted and is to die for yummm
Here are a bunch of good burger ideas:

BURGER SUGGESTIONS:

Most of these say to grill them but you can use the broiler or pan fry them.

Teriyaki Burgers:

1 1/2 pds hamburger

1 8 oz can water chestnuts (drained and chopped)

Marinade:

1/3 cup reduced sodium beef broth or sherry

1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce

2 green onions chopped

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 garlic cloves-minced

1/2 tsp ground ginger

6 buns

6 Pineapple rings

6 slices swiss or provolone cheese

Mix the burger and water chestnuts. Shape into 6 burgers and place in a 13x9 pan.

Mix all marinade ingredients and save out 1/4 cup. Pour remaining marinade over burgers. Marinate at least 2-3 hours or longer (I did a set for a day and 1/2 and they were super awesome). Turn frequently.

Grill patties brushing with remaining marinade. Grill the pineapple rings for about 1-2 minutes per side. Top the burgers with a pineapple ring, and a slice of cheese. Serve on buns. Mmmmmmmm.

These are good to make up a bunch and freeze to pull out and make later.

Or top burgers with pesto, cheese, and sliced red bell peppers. Sliced avocados or guacamole, and bacon and a slice of white cheese.

BEEFBURGER

Makes 2 quarter pounders

INGREDIENTS

250g of lean minced beef*

Ground pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of sunflower oil

METHOD

Divide the mince into two halves. Squeeze each half into a ball and then flatten it out into a disc. Make them firm, so that they don鈥檛 fall apart. Make them chunky, as thin edges will cook too quickly. Season with the pepper.

Put the oil into a frying pan on a medium heat. Fry the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side.

ADDITIONS %26amp; ALTERNATIVES

Add some finely chopped onion. Add some herbs.

Use minced lamb, pork or turkey instead of minced beef. If you use minced lamb, add some finely chopped mint, dried mint or some mint sauce. If you use minced pork, add some finely chopped apple or some apple sauce. If you use minced turkey, add some cranberry sauce.

If you need to make the mince go further, add some grated carrot.

If the burgers won鈥檛 hold together, add some beaten egg. If you make the mixture too wet, add some breadcrumbs.

Cook the burgers under a preheated medium grill for about 5 minutes on each side instead of frying. If the mince is very lean, you might need to coat the burgers with a little oil.

TIPS

Chilling the burgers in the fridge helps them to hold together whilst cooking.

You can make the burgers using a burger press. This is a round mould, which you fill with the mince and then press it into uniformly sized burgers. However, hand made burgers have more 鈥榬ustic charm鈥?and there鈥檚 no washing up.

* Use good quality lean and finely ground mince. The cheaper the mince, the higher the fat content and the more coarsely it is ground. Use chuck steak, which is reasonably cheap but doesn鈥檛 have too much fat, and either get the butcher to grind it, or invest in a meat grinder and do it yourself.
Well, one of my favorite hamburger recipes has a delicious twist. Using ground sirloin, shape into thin patties, a little larger than the size of the buns. Put a small mound of blue cheese in the middle of one patty, then cover with another meat patty and press the edges to seal it. Repeat with each patty. Sprinkle with salt and/or pepper, and cook until done. Top with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo/mustard if desired.

Probably more widely known as Sloppy Joes, these can be made with ground beef or ground turkey. This homemade version is light years ahead of anything you can buy in an envelope or can, and really just as easy. I like to serve these with paper-thin slices of red onion.

1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped fine

    1/2 cup best-quality ketchup

    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    1 teaspoon coarse salt

    freshly cracked black pepper

    1/3 cup water

6 sesame seed topped hamburger buns, warmed

    Method

Brush a skillet with oil and warm over moderate heat, 30 seconds. Add beef [or turkey] and onion and saut茅 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add all remaining ingredients [except buns] and simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Spoon mixture between split buns and serve immediately.

To the Tomato soup, you can add different flavors to make it: Italian (oregano, basil, maybe mozzarella on top, etc.)

Mexican (salsa, or chilies, pinto beans, sprinkled with cheese)

Asian (soy sauce, bean sprouts or water chestnuts, etc.)

    Good Luck.
My family likes baked spaghetti. I make mini meatballs, boil the spaghetti and mix up both with sauce, lots of cheese, some herbs, maybe some peppers and onions. Put it all in a lasagna pan, and bake it till it all comes together. Doesn't need to bake long as everything is cooked. Melt some cheese over the top and serve.

Velveeta Cheese Dip Recipe with hamburger, salsa, chiles, shredded cheese?

Does anyone know what this recipe is? It may have other optional ingredients, but I know these things are for sure included. Thanks!!Velveeta Cheese Dip Recipe with hamburger, salsa, chiles, shredded cheese?
What I use is a large package of Velveeta, 1lb of hamburger meat (or sausage) and one large jar of salsa, whichever kind you like. Brown your meat (drain the greese of course) and mix the rest. If you want it more cheesy, then don't put the entire jar of salsa in it, just mix to taste.

Chili Con Queso :) Tostitos sells it at Walmart....:) I haven't exactly made it yet because I'm afraid to burn down the house but I asked my aunt a few years ago and she said that is what it was.....:) Good luck on making some for yourself! :)
    In Texas it is called ';Queso';
I make a cheese dip with a 2 pound block of velvetta (the big box), 1 lb of ground beef, 1 lb of ground sausage (the tubes of breakfast sausage), 1 large can of rotel tomatoes,1 can cream of mushroom soup, refill that can with milk.

brown the meats, drain, then combine all ingredients in a crockpot on low, stirring occasionally, until well blended and cheese is melted. (this is REALLY great on the second day). But it makes a TON of cheese dip. If you are using for a small family, cut the portions down.

try chicken nuggets in b/w the buns. or some pasta . serve with hot sweet corn dip. works great !!
Geeze louise, the thought of that oyster burger kinda turns my stomach.

Make your burgers how ever you usually do. Hopefully you're using 80/20 and making them wide and on the thin side.

Have lots of sauted onions and mushrooms.

Have a great cheese dip to use as a spread. A Monterrey Pepper Jack is great! Add some finely broken up hot sausage makes it even better on a burger!
    The best recipe ever.

Get yourself two pounds of lean ground beef.

In a bowl, get about 10 to 15 crackers and mash them up real good. Add one packet of Lipton's onion soup mix and one small can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup. The mix should be thick and pasty. (Don't put in too many crackers. They are simply used to hold the flavor. Too many and you are making a meatloaf and not a hamburger.)

Now put your meat into the mix and mush it around well. (I like to saute diced mushrooms in butter and garlic and add those as well.)

If makes a fantastic burger. Top it with grilled mushrooms or your favorite cheese (I don't like cheese on my hamburgers but many people do.)

    Fantastic mushroom and teri-yaki burger:

Get some sauce and corn syrup. Put a cup or two of soy sauce into a frying pan and bring it to a simmer. Add corn syrup to taste. When it is just the way you like it, throw in a mountain of fresh sliced mushrooms. Cook this mix until it thickens into a gravy like sauce. It it is not thickening fast enough, add a spoon full ocornstarchhh and stir until it thickens. Remove the mix and fry up your burgers. As the burgers near completion, dump the mix on top of them. You will be happy with this one.

    Hamburger 鈥?Carpetbagger Burger

The Carpetbagger Burger is basically a burger stuffed with oysters, mushrooms and bacon. The unique taste of this combination is intriguingly unusual and delicious.

I was introduced to a carpetbagger steak at the tender age of 18 by my mother in a wonderful little bistro in a small South African country city. Exotic tastes were completely new to me (I hadn't even eaten an oyster before) and I could not believe the flavors that exuded from the steak. I have often tried to duplicate that taste and this filling is the closest that I have come.

    For the Patties:

    4 basic hamburger pattites

    For the Filling:

4 rashers bacon fried crispy, crumbled and drained on a paper towel

1 cup fresh oysters, drained and coarsely chopped. If unavailable canned (not smoked) will do

    1/2 cup chopped mushrooms

    1 dash olive oil

    1 dash white wine

    1 dash cream

    fresh ground black pepper

    For the Rolls:

4 fresh rolls, about the same size as the patties

    sliced tomato

    thinly sliced onion

    lettuce

    mayonnaise

Add olive oil to a saucepan and gently saut茅 the oysters and mushrooms until the mushrooms are tender. Drain excess oil and add the bacon, wine, cream and pepper. Stirring, bring to the boil, immediately remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

    Make the 8 thin patties.

Spoon about a tablespoon of filling onto the centre of 4 of the patties and spread slightly leaving the outer edges clear. We need the top half to bind here.

Cover with the remaining patties and seal the edges by pressing down on the outer perimeter with your fingers (like you would with a pie). Don't apply pressure to the centre of the patty or the filling will squirt out. Place the patties in the refrigerator until they are cold.

    Warm the remaining filling.

Cook the patties as you normally would but taking extra care when turning.

Split the rolls and toast the cut surfaces lightly (under grill, on barbecue or

    Glazed Doughnut Bacon Egg Cheeseburgers

    - makes about three burgers per pound of beef -

    Written by Chris Zelenak.

    Ingredients

    Two glazed donuts per patty

One egg per patty, fried, as a burger topping (note: for egg-in-a-hat style you'll need to carve out some extra space in the doughnut, but it fries pretty well)

    Two pieces bacon per patty

Maple Syrup (1/2 cup per pound beef)

Kosher Salt (approx 1 tablespoon per pound beef)

Fresh Basil (1/2 cup per pound beef)

    Worcestershire sauce, to taste

    Red pepper flakes, to taste

Full egg (1 per pound beef); this will be mixed in with the beef, not fried as the egg above

    Procedure

    1. Mix all together with beef to form patties. I was in a rush to get all this done in the lunch hour, but when I make burgers normally I also try to save some kosher salt to coat the outside of the burger, so that it will form a crispy / salty crust (I say crust, but it's barely noticeable鈥擨 do it more for the idea, I think) on the outside.

    2. For the doughnuts, I shaved off the top part of each doughnut to allow for an easier grilling time for myself, as well as a less messy experience eating the burger. That was my hope, at least, though after all is said and done, this much **** on a burger is gonna be messy regardless.

    3. I cooked the bacon first on the griddle, then reserved the bacon grease to fry the burgers and donuts in. Cheddar cheese on the burgers at that point, then they were dressed with whatever the eater wanted at that point. I had one person try some Roquefort-hot sauce-mayo mix on one of the burgers and claim it was awesome. I wasn't quite that brave.

    They are sooo good!!!
