Hamburger Cookies

A fun treat, these cookies look just like miniature hamburgers! :) I've seen several varieties of this recipe- this is my quick and easy version. You could get more creative with other colors of frosting for ketchup, mustard, cheese, etc.

24 cookies

15 min 10 min prep

48 round vanilla wafer cookies

24 miniature peppermint patties (chocolate covered)

1 (2/3 ounce) package green decorator frosting (the kind in a tube)

Preheat oven to 350.

Place half of the cookies upside down (flat side up) on a cookie sheet-- this is the bottom half of the ';bun';.

Top each cookie half with an unwrapped mint patty.

Place in the oven for 2-3 minutes, just long enough for the chocolate to soften.

Working quickly, top each mint patty with a squiggle of green frosting around the outer edges so that a bit of the green drips onto the sides of the ';burger'; (this is the ';lettuce';).

Top each ';burger'; with another vanilla wafer (this is the top half of the ';bun';).

Store in an airtight container until serving.

Hamburger Wontons

A great way to use up the leftover hamburgers from a previous dinner or to make from scratch, these are quick and easy and a great served with fry sauce or ketchup and mustard. The mushroom and onions are usually part of my leftovers too, I even find myself making extra at one nights dinner to have these another night.

2 hamburger patties, cooked and chopped

1/4 cup mushrooms, chopped

1/4 cup onions, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

Make a taco buffet. Plate up all of the many many different ingredients that can go into a taco and let people make their own.

People can also make taco salads out of the stuff on your buffet.
I love to make taverns/maid rites. You just brown the hamburger, drain well, spice it up with what you like, I use garlic salt, pepper, some brown sugar, Worcester sauce, horseradish, maybe a splash or two of beer, some mustard and ketchup...mix it all up and serve on some crusty rolls. Yum. I really like mine with a kick and the horseradish serves the purpose. Anyway, if you're having a party you can put this into a crock pot after it is cooked to keep it warm.
Mmm..Ranch Burgers. Mix a packet of dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix into burger. I use about half a pack per pound of meat but you can adjust it. Just make sure you don't add too much or it will be salty.
